China Cafe in Moab

My husband and I are from Seattle, Washington. We stopped into El Charro Loco on our way back from a trip to Colorado. I can honestly say that this is some of the best Mexican food we’ve ever had. The Burrito Mex with steak is amazing, and so are the tacos! Everything tastes homemade and delicious. I would highly recommend stopping here. You know when the cooks are speaking Spanish that you’re in for a real treat.

Yummy! We were craving Mexican food after our Jeep day on Shafer Trail and they recommended this place and it did not disappoint. Real sugar Mexican soda and the meals were huge! The staff was amazing and it was just perfect after our long day.

I usually enjoy Mexican food, but this place has raised the bar! I have never had such a delicious plate, wonderful spices, and amazing presentation. The staff is super nice and orders arrived quickly. The beans have a kick, which was unexpected and delicious, the rice was a wonder side with the dish, and the steak chimichanga was full of spice, wonderful texture, and all around delicious!

Best tacos I've had in a long time.

My sons ordered burgers, the meat was super rare in the center. We asked the waitress to get them well cooked burgers. He got frustrated and avoided our table. Even if the food is bomb, poor service ruins it completely.

Excellent food and friendly service. All 6 of us were pleased with our entrees. The chipa were a little stale but salsa was good. We heard someone comment to one of the waiters that it was the best Mexican food he had ever had. After the 6 of us ate, we all agree.

All around excellent. Portions are hefty, quality of ingredients is high, presentation is great, and service is on point. Going back for sure.

The food was incredible! Their refried beans are fantastic and have really delicious seasoning. Amazing prices for the portions. Some of the most courteous service I have ever experienced! Wonderful and friendly atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Moab!

Average, but I am spoil by the endless great Mexican restaurant in SE Texas.

Prompt service, but they don’t serve any alcohol and the salsa tasted like tomato sauce! We left before ordering and went to fiesta mexicana instead

Fantastic food. My wife and I shared two plates, five different enchiladas in total. Many good flavors. The prices were fair. The staff was helpful and attentive.

You can’t go wrong if you come here, the food is unbelievable, the service is quick, the food is cheap, and everyone is incredibly friendly. One of the best meals I’ve had in a long time. They could double their prices and I’d still leave the restaurant feeling like it was fair.If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Just eat here. Trust me.

Excellent experience here, definitely would return and recommend if you're feeling Mexican food. The service was pretty fast for being busy. Customer service was good, our server was so nice and quick to help! The salsa is the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. We ordered: the #4 combo, #10 combo, enchiladas suizas and burrito san Juan. The queso smothered on the combo and burrito plates is awesome. The quality of food is really good. Honestly the best stateside Mexican food I've had!

The only good thing about this place was the chips and salsa. First off, be forewarned they did not have shredded beef at all as a meat option. Secondly, they don't have a liquor license so they only had soda and horchata as drink options, which even the horchata was horrible. Finally the sauces were very bland on the enchiladas and the rice tasted microwaved and had that gummy, almost plastic like texture.

Was probably most nastiest Mexican food I have had! Looks way good but isn’t, I got the two enchiladas chicken it came one thick jelly green sauce and one tomato paste thick sauce tasted just like tomato 🍅 paste. Didn’t eat but a small bite and still have to pay for 50% of my meal it was $15.00 I didn’t eat any of it!! Not impressed at all the only thing good was the chips and cheese sauce

Wow, this place has changed. The food is so good. Not like I remembered it. Very tasty chicken. Kids food options are available here too. They also have horachata.

If you are in Moab you HAVE to go here! Big group of people and we loved every dish! I personally had the pineapple that was stuffed with shrimp, chicken, steak, etc and it was AMAZING! We all commented on how the seasoning was perfect in every dish. My dish could easily feed 2-4 people which made the price point more reasonable. A friend got the combo plate with a taco and enchildada and loved it. Nachos got high praise and so did the fajita nachos as well.

Oh man, just had some molcajete here. AMAZING! Staff was awesome and my daughter had the nachos supreme which looked delicious too. Definitely will eat here again

Very cute and quaint Mexican restaurant, large portions, delicious and fresh! Large servings of perfectly cooked meat and the BEST salsa I've had. Wait staff were super friendly and efficient. Definitely go eat while in Moab.

Ok Mexican, not my favorite style. Same for the salsa. Everything was good but that's all, not great.

Food was delicious! Nicely plated and hot & fresh. Hubby had the Texas Fajitas and I had the Enchiladas Suizas. Looks can be deceiving... Enchiladas were 3 small ones but filled perfectly with chicken. Chips and salsa were very good too!

Food is good. Service is a different story. Their plates are way too hot. The waitress spilled a plate on my arm and burned my arm. They didn’t even acknowledge it. I had a giant blister on my arm immediately from it cuz it was so hot. It would have been nice for them to at least acknowledge it and comp our food or offer a discount at the very least.

First time here in Moab and saw this place and the wife and I decided to check it out. The picture you see below is called the Charro Loco plate where they take a grilled pineapple, cut it in half and stuff it with chicken, steak, and shrimp as well as bell peppers, onions, then top it off with cheese. The grilled pineapple goes really well with the steak and this dish should be shared with 2 people unless you’re really hungry. Service is great and the only thing they didn’t have was beer, but that’s ok because the food is amazing! Enjoy!

I never had carne asada as good as I did at El Charro Loco. The meat tasted delicious and was so tender that I barely had to chew it. The tacos were also as amazing as the meat. I would absolutely come back if I lived closer!

Honestly didn't know what to expect from the outside, but don't let that dissuade you... This place is absolutely delicious!

Damnnnnn this place is good! The carne asada tastes incredible (I had it in my chimichangas). Their pork is also really tasty. Their refried beans are delicious and DO NOT contain lard (according to the staff member I spoke with on the phone). The staff is super friendly and helpful!!! They also have a nice selection of Mexican sodas 🥤 I might eat their again tomorrow.

Quite delicious! Great food, pretty plates. Moderately priced Mexican fare. Lunches at $8.99, almost all meals under $14.99. Health Department rated the business "A", always a huge plus for me. Located on the south end of Moab, right on the main road thru town. Plenty of parking. Service was a little slow but friendly, they were short a server. Will definitely visit again.

I have been at this restaurant 5 times since moving to Moab. Each time, the food was very good and the service was just as good. If you want authentic Mexican food. ..this is the place

EXCELLENT EXPERIENCE!! I have only been able to take the time to order out, time restraints, however it has a great roomy feel. If your in the mood for Mexican food, go no further, no other choice will even compare! Perfectly spiced without being over being or to spicy(unless requested). They have a white cheese sauce that's out of this world. I'm not usually a "cheese sauce " enthusiast, but this is well worth a try. Staff is very nice and accommodating. Good was quick and awesome. Wide variety of choices and many deals in case of a budget.

Unbelievable Mexican food, some of the best I have ever had in my life. Ordered take out because of corona craziness and everything was spot on. Tasty, perfect balance of spice, and just overall delicious. Easy to see it was made with love. Couldn't rate any higher. And I never review restaurants!! Keep up the great work.

My husband and myself went tonight for dinner. We were seated and gave our order for the steak fajitas for 2 with sour cream. After several minutes several other groups came in for dinner. We noticed a server brought out chips and salsa for the group's that just came in, but we still had no chips and salsa. We had to ask another server for chips and salsa because our server was no where to be found. When our fajitas came we asked again for the sour cream. After running out of tortillas we had to ask another server for more. When our server came by to ask how everything was we asked for our sour cream. He said that he got busy. The food was okay but the service was horrible.

A smaller casual place on the edge of town, I can tell you right now that the food is fantastic. Fast service, delicious food, and the portions will not have you leaving hungry. Definitely recommended!

El Charro plate is the way to go! Split it with my husband and still had a box full to take home. Highly recommend! The steak, shrimp and chicken were cooked to perfection.

Delicious! The fajita salad was massive and delicious! It was pretty much a fajita, but with a little lettuce thrown in. Everyone in my party agreed, they would go back. So good! Only downside: they don’t serve alcohol.UPDATE: 3 out of the 4 people in our group had food poisoning.. Delicious, but definitely not worth it! You’ve been warned!
